Committee: Committee on Land Use
The Committee on Land Use, chaired by Council Member Kevin Riley, met to vote on seven items referred by its subcommittees. The committee voted to disapprove LU-141, a sidewalk café application by Tiro de Esquina (formerly Kelly Tejada's Bakery and Restaurant) in Council Member Thomas-Henry's Queens district. It approved rezonings in the Bronx (815 Hutchinson River Parkway, Council Member Aldebol's district), Brooklyn (862 Kent Avenue, Council Member Restler's district; 132 Melrose Street, Council Member Gutiérrez's district), and Queens (158-06 Northern Boulevard, Council Member Won's district; 21-31 46th Avenue, Council Member Won's district), in some cases with modifications. It also approved Intro 833-A, sponsored by Council Member Sandy Nurse, removing 30-foot setback requirements along Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. The clerk recorded a vote of 10 in the affirmative with no abstentions, and all items passed.
