The Finance Committee, chaired by Council Member Linda Lee, met to vote on adopting the $125.8 billion Fiscal Year 2027 budget. Lee thanked Speaker Julie Menin, the Finance Division staff, and her own district office team, and summarized key investments including $14.4 million for parks, $1 million for libraries, mental health funding, $12 million for home-delivered meals, and $86.4 million restored for immigrant legal services. 3:47 commitment to achieve a
3:48 balanced budget without
3:50 cutting services, drawing down
3:51 on reserves or imposing
3:52 drastic property tax increases
3:54 .
3:54 Further this budget includes
3:56 key investments and programs
3:57 such as City febreze air fares
3:58 New York City kids rise. All
4:01 these programs will aid
4:02 families and preparing for the
4:03 future and tackle the issue of
4:06 affordability, we successfully
4:07 protected and achieved funding
4:08 a 14.4 million for our parks
4:12 maintaining and optimizing our
4:14 green spaces and additional $1
4:17 million for our library
4:18 sustaining, continuing to
4:19 continuing to sustain our
4:22 seven day service and a
4:22 continued commitment for the
4:23 mental health and well being
4:24 of New yorkers with 4.5
4:27 million for the city's act
4:29 teams 11 million for and step
4:31 down mobile treatment centers
4:34 .the council was also able to
4:34 store in funding for crisi
4:37 srespite centers proven
4:39 evidence based program staffed
4:40 by clinicians and peer
4:42 counselors. Lastly, this
4:44 budget also secured 12 million
4:45 to increase the reimbursements
4:48 of nonprofits providing
4:48 culturally competent home
4:50 delivered meals seven days a
4:51 week and restored 86.4 million
4:55 for nonprofits delivering
4:56 immigrant legal services,
4:58 ensuring that New yorkers have
4:59 trusted legal support when
5:01 needed most. We are delivering
5:03 a balanced on time budget
5:05 restoring our reserves and
5:06 still investing in making our
5:08 cities safer, healthier and
5:09 more affordable without adding
5:11 additional burdens for New
5:14 yorkers. Now, let's turn t
